Why Choose Wild Clay Custom Pottery?
Wild clay is clay foraged from the land. It retains unique regional textures, colors, and impurities, and is often used by people for a deeply localized connection to the landscape.
I love offering the option for customers to have pottery made from a location important to them: from their home, their family’s cabin, or another piece of land they love.
Let me learn your story and create for you a piece of art that celebrates your unique bond to a place that matters to you.
Pricing starts at $1200
For custom orders other than wild clay, see the Custom Ordering page.
The Process
-
We begin with an on-site consultation. We will walk the land together, talk about the importance the land has in your life, and what you would like to see made with the clay. I will also collect clay during this visit. On-site visits are free but there may be a fee for travel in some circumstances.
-
I will return to my studio and create a collection of drawings for you to review and refine. The first two rounds of designs are free, with additional revisions available if needed.
-
Once we finalize your design and payment, I’ll outline a timeline and begin work. When your piece is finished, I’ll share photos or invite you to see it in person.
-
You can pick up your piece, arrange for a trusted carrier, or explore personal delivery options (especially for East Coast clients). After your pottery arrives, I’ll remain available for any questions or future projects.
